My sweet husband wasn't feeling well this morning, so Jacob and I ventured to church ourselves while Josh stayed home and rested. While we were gone, he surprised me by hanging the curtain in Ruth's nursery - the final touch on her room! I LOVE it - it is such a beautiful room and I'm so grateful and excited to have been able to create this room for Baby B #2! It will be a great haven for us!
Snuggling with my girl under our blanket from my twin sister.
Love this little corner!
My boy wanting a Mama moment!
When DID my firstborn get SO big? I love this boy!
Or, as he says, "I man!"
I asked him, "Can I give you a kiss?" and he looked back and planted one on me! My sweet boy!
Our little nursing haven!
One side of the room - love it!
Just love the colors and coordination of this unique pink and browns!
All ready for our little girl!
The curtain just finishes the room!
Ruth Evelyn's room!
I love the bedding and really think it will grow with her for a few years!
After finishing her room, I went through her closet and picked out 2 possible outfits for her "first outfit" for her to wear after she is born and ready for clothes.
My mother, Josh, Jacob and I went to the local Haslet Farmer's Market this Saturday and one of the vendors was selling bows she makes, so we bought this sweet orange bow for the fall! (We also got some apples and some awesome local, raw honey!) The pink rosette is a recent gift from a dear high school friend (THANK YOU KARA!) and the pink and white princess bow was one I ordered from a great WAHM (Work At Home Mom) business I found on Facebook - Graceful Girls! Love our bows!
Everyday, we are blessed with something that makes us enjoy this season of waiting for our precious baby to join us here on the outside. Some days there are moments when I feel "READY!!" but it has been amazing to see what each day holds that shows me why today was not the day for Baby B #2 to be born. This weekend we had a great time with my Mother here just getting to enjoy Jacob and him enjoy his beloved Grandmother! She has always been so good as my Mama and his Grandmother. Some of our favorite memories of his first year of life are at her house, where she has created such a haven for her grandchildren to feel at home. We can't wait to visit there again and so appreciate the moments she gave coming here while I can't travel. Then, today, we were able to finalize this nursery that will be such a haven for nursing and dressing and changing our little girl and Josh, as he felt some better, got things down from our attic for our baby that had long been packed away. I've gotten to have special moments with Jacob and reflect on our almost-2-years as Mama and son. Josh and I got to have a date night, our 3rd since Jacob was born! It was WONDERFUL - we HIGHLY recommend a local Thai restaurant we discovered right here in Haslet - Mai Thai Restaurant. The food was as good as any I ever ate when I lived in Washington, DC and the service was incredible! Josh has been my best friend from early in our friendship and that has carried through into marriage and I just love living life with this man! Today, he and Jacob were doing something and I just looked at Josh and was like, "I am SO glad we are together!"
As I consider that we are now 38 weeks and 4 days and I think of the week ahead, I am so thankful that each day holds something special that I look forward to! Tomorrow we have MOPS (and my midwife returns from a trip, so we are glad she'll be home for whenever God decides Ruth should be born). Tuesday we have our midwife home visit and prenatal appointment AND my dear friend and college roommate and her 7 month old little boy are coming to visit from Mississippi! Wednesday morning I work, so that income is a blessing! Thursday, I see my chiropractor for a prenatal appointment and then get to spend the afternoon with my BFF. THEN, Friday morning I work and hope to get my hair done... by then, we'll be 39 weeks and 2 days and heading into another weekend!
We'll see what God has in store both for me and our little one and our family as we ready ourselves each day to become a family of 4 and see who this special person is God has blessed our family with!
