We started blogging our life as best friends, husband and wife, in 2006 shortly after we got married. Once we had children, I created a new blog for our growing family. This is our blog sharing the story of our life: beginning with our first pregnancy and our journey as parents to our beloved firstborn, BB1, who arrived in our world perfectly on 11.5.2010 and his precious sister, BB2, born on 10.6.2012, our sweet third baby, BB3, born 2.3.2015, our 3rd vivacious daughter, BB6, born on 5.1.2018 and our 2nd living son and final Bruffey Baby, BB8, born 6.23.2021. We also love our 3 greatly missed babies in Heaven, BB4 (born in Heaven at 5 weeks 5 days on 10.8.2016) BB5 (born still at 16 weeks on 2.5.2017), and BB7 (born in Heaven at 7 weeks 3 days on 10.23.2019). I will share my stories of our family, of being a wife, a mother, a home manager, a friend, a woman, a Hope Mom, and a person pursuing hope in Christ through life and death, joy and pain. Welcome to our journey!

"Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you."

Our New Life in Lubbock

God has blessed our family with a great new job and an opportunity we have long prayed for! When this job opportunity presented itself, we knew we'd be moving and were well prepared to do so. God has shown us that we will go where He leads and work and serve where He plants us. We are Team Bruffey, a family, best friends, parents together guiding, loving, teaching and enjoying our 2 precious children.

The more we learned about Lubbock, the more excited we became. It is a great city! What we've learned so far has made us realize that Lubbock is very "us". It is a large enough city that it has great resources for families but small enough you can get most anywhere in 15 to 20 minutes max! Most places are within 5 to 10 minutes! We are loving that!

Moving has been an adventure, with nights spent in a hotel then a suite/inn and finally in our rental house! We are planning to get to know the city for several months and determine where we would like to buy a house.

Here are some pictures from our journey!

It was cold and I forgot to grab my winter coat, so I got creative with babywearing to keep me and my littlest babe warm!

MOVE IN DAY
This is the day all of our things were delivered to our rental house in Lubbock.

Keeping kiddos cared for as the crew unloads.

Our closet takes shape

A living room full of boxes!

Kitchen - eek!

Jacob's room unfolding

Will this ever look like a real living room?

Nap time for our sweet boy - mess and all!

Ruth Evelyn's room begins to come together.

The master bedroom... a lot to do!

After spending most the day unpacking, we decided we needed to get the kids out of the house.

We had heard of a park with something called Legacy Play Place - it turned out to be 2 miles from our house so we decided to give it a try! We will DEFINITELY be back! It's amazing and perfect for our Jacob!

The first set of pictures show the various sights at the play place and what all there is for kiddos. So fun!

Lots of pictures, of course, of our Jacob having a blast!

He was in SUCH a hurry to do it all by himself!

Ruth Evelyn took a great nap the whole time we were there in our Kinderpack.

Still sleeeeeping!

Jacob convinced Josh to go down with him once... then he was all about doing it himself!

I can't believe my boy did this slide all by himself!

Getting so tired...

a final swing... sleepy boy

He wanted to play on this "big wagon" before we left.

A final slide

My big boy!

Having so much fun!

Wnating to be like the big kids

Ok Daddy here I go.

He made a friend!

It was awesome and we'll be back!

  1. What a blessing to find such an awesome park so close and so much fun to explore a new city. Love the sound of the "quaintness" of Lubbock! 15 min to get anywhere!!!! How awesome!
