We started blogging our life as best friends, husband and wife, in 2006 shortly after we got married. Once we had children, I created a new blog for our growing family. This is our blog sharing the story of our life: beginning with our first pregnancy and our journey as parents to our beloved firstborn, BB1, who arrived in our world perfectly on 11.5.2010 and his precious sister, BB2, born on 10.6.2012, our sweet third baby, BB3, born 2.3.2015, our 3rd vivacious daughter, BB6, born on 5.1.2018 and our 2nd living son and final Bruffey Baby, BB8, born 6.23.2021. We also love our 3 greatly missed babies in Heaven, BB4 (born in Heaven at 5 weeks 5 days on 10.8.2016) BB5 (born still at 16 weeks on 2.5.2017), and BB7 (born in Heaven at 7 weeks 3 days on 10.23.2019). I will share my stories of our family, of being a wife, a mother, a home manager, a friend, a woman, a Hope Mom, and a person pursuing hope in Christ through life and death, joy and pain. Welcome to our journey!

"Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you."

Ruth Evelyn Bruffey: 4 Months Old!

My sweet, smiling girl is 4 months old! We were in Houston visiting Grandmother & Granddaddy and celebrating Uncle Chip's birthday with him, Aunt Angie and cousin Elijah during her actual birthday (February 6), so pictures were completed today, 2.12.13 when she is 4 months, 6 days old!

Stats:
Age: 4 months
Weight: 12 lbs, 9 1/2 oz (on 2.12.13)

Skills:
SMILING, rolling tummy to back (since 6 weeks old), rolling half way from back to tummy - getting closer..., she can successfully pull all the hanging toys down from her bouncy seat, she loves her hands and picking things up to put in her mouth and examine. Lights fascinate her!

Development:
She is teething! We have LOTS of drool and hands in the mouth for the past month, but no teeth yet. Still swaddled (yay for the Miracle Blanket) for sleep in her Rock 'N Play sleeper during the day and beginning of the night, then it's cosleeping and nursing the rest of the night! She takes 2 to 3 naps a day. For about a week, she took a 30 minute morning nap - but finally she has gotten through that "wonder week" and is back to a 1.5 to 2.5 hour nap in the morning and a 1 to 2 hour afternoon nap and sometimes a short evening nap before bed.

Loves:
Her big brother! She watches him with rapt attention! As I'm typing, he just went up and gave her a big kiss! Melt my heart! Her Daddy's strong arms and when he sings to her - he even sang to her to get her back to sleep last night! Snuggling with Mama and enjoying Mama's milk as she goes to sleep. Loves her jumperoo with those strong, happy feet and legs! Water! She loves bath time, which is so nice for Mama too! She loves her special ball that Grandmother gave her that is made up of tubes that she can hold and put in her mouth. She loves people! We definitely think she is an introvert. She just loves being talked to! Tummy raspberries and being held in the air like super baby and then kissed all over her sweet cheeks! Being worn on Mama's back and lots of Mama snuggles!

Health:
She's been gaining weight well since we got past our dip with my milk supply leveling off and an unhappy baby when letdown wasn't as strong, but after Mama has been fighting allergy sinus, coughing nastiness for a week and a half, both kiddos are now congested and coughing :-( We are using her probiotics as usual and lots of nursing and snuggles and some Essential Oils and we are all 3 going to our awesome chiropractor on Thursday this week! Jacob and I are using elderberry syrup and RespaClear (a natural tincture) to boost our immune system (plus our probiotics we always take), some Essential Oils and some homeopathic remedies.

New Blueberry diaper we bought at Nurtured Family on a day with Aunt Angie and cousin Elijah!

Smiling at Aunt Angie!

a girl has got to have pearls!

Playing with cousin Elijah!

He's so awesome!

Pretty lady in pink and a hat from Auntie Kay!

Looks JUST like Aunt Rup as a baby!!

Now some pictures in PURPLE! A great hat with flower and beautiful skirt from our friend, Christa- the outfit came with a gorgeous onsie with an embroidered purple rose and I can't find it! :-(

What a fun girl and blessing to our family! We love you, Ruth Evelyn!! Keep growing and learning baby girl! Just as your Daddy says, you are a sweetheart!
