We started blogging our life as best friends, husband and wife, in 2006 shortly after we got married. Once we had children, I created a new blog for our growing family. This is our blog sharing the story of our life: beginning with our first pregnancy and our journey as parents to our beloved firstborn, BB1, who arrived in our world perfectly on 11.5.2010 and his precious sister, BB2, born on 10.6.2012, our sweet third baby, BB3, born 2.3.2015, our 3rd vivacious daughter, BB6, born on 5.1.2018 and our 2nd living son and final Bruffey Baby, BB8, born 6.23.2021. We also love our 3 greatly missed babies in Heaven, BB4 (born in Heaven at 5 weeks 5 days on 10.8.2016) BB5 (born still at 16 weeks on 2.5.2017), and BB7 (born in Heaven at 7 weeks 3 days on 10.23.2019). I will share my stories of our family, of being a wife, a mother, a home manager, a friend, a woman, a Hope Mom, and a person pursuing hope in Christ through life and death, joy and pain. Welcome to our journey!

"Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you."

Bruffey Easter 2012 - Part #3

After 2 great days, we welcomed Resurrection Sunday with gladness! It has proven to be a wonderful day of family, faith, and remembering Jesus and His sacrifice for us all.

We started the day in the Bruffey household with a yummy Easter breakfast. Jacob enjoyed his first Easter Egg - we showed him how to beat the egg on his tray to crack the shell - he got a kick out of this!

Then, we dressed and were off to church. We've been searching for a new church home, but with Jacob and I in Houston for 5 weeks, plus the 3 weeks of light bed rest for me before that, the search was put on hold. We have visited several churches and attended the membership classes of 2: Northwood Church and Fellowship of the Parks. Josh has good friends at FOTP in Keller, so we have usually attended that campus, but FOTP has a campus in Haslet at the entrance to our neighborhood and we have thought it would be really great if God were to lead us to attend a church so close to home. We've been once before in 2010, but decided to visit again for Easter and get to know this church campus more. It was a great sermon on new beginnings and THE new beginning, the "opening day" if you will, that Christ's death and resurrection can bring to those who trust Him. It was SUCH a great, refreshing service that reminded me of God's grace and mercy - though often not found when looking to others - ALWAYS found at the foot of the cross in the GOD of all.

Easter Eggs for breakfast!

Lovin' his Easter breakfast of pancakes, egg and banana!

All dressed in his Easter outfit from his Mamaw Bruffey, bought in summer 2010 as we awaited his arrival. His Mamaw had such a love for her family and we ache as we miss her still!! We rejoice that she LIVES in Heaven and, because of Christ and his death and resurrection we can one day see her again! Here on earth, she lives on in our memories and moments like today where a precious outfit reminds us of her love!

Our Easter lunch table after church: grilled pork chops, sweet potatoes, baked asparagus and cornbread... as Jacob would say, "MMMMMMMMMMMM!"

We even used the Claddagh napkin rings from our wedding!

My beloved is STILL mine!

A family of 4!

After Jacob's afternoon nap, we presented him with his Easter bag of goodies!

Look buddy, it's a ball!

And a taste of a Reese's peanut butter egg...

MMMMMMM!

And some Thomas the Train bubbles!!

Jacob wasn't too interested in "hunting" (ie - gathering) Easter eggs at home today...
he soon realized that these lightweight eggs...

...work GREAT in his ball popper!

Then, time for wrestling with Daddy!

Now THAT'S a great Easter!

Happy Resurrection Celebration from our family to yours!
