Saturday afternoon we headed to the park in Haslet for a community event sponsored by the Haslet Parks and Recreation and Movement Church in Haslet, with food, bounce houses, Easter egg hunts for all ages of kids, and free pictures with the Easter Bunny. We enjoyed being around all the people from Haslet who showed up and appreciated the many fun, free family activities! Jacob wasn't so sure about the Easter Bunny, but he got into the Easter egg "hunt" and enjoyed a few bites of a real hot dog for the first time. We decided not to do the bounce houses until he's a little older, but instead walked to the playground at the park and he got to swing - a favorite for him!

Jacob found 6 eggs! Then we told him, "ALL DONE!" and went to have some lunch!

Jacob liked it! And enjoyed our picnic as we watched the older kids hunt for eggs.

After lunch, Daddy and Jacob walked to the playground nearby for Jacob to swing!
Thank you to Haslet Parks and Rec, Sendera Ranch HOA, and Movement Church in Haslet for a great family day that was TRULY affordable for all!
After Jacob went to bed, Josh and I put his Easter bag together with goodies from us and his Parish Grandparents. We plan to give this to him after his nap time tomorrow, on Easter Sunday.
We started with this cute, reusable Easter tote from Grandmother Parish...
Added some earth-friendly Easter "grass" and some plastic Easter eggs...
Then filled it with these goodies - some from Jacob's Parish Grandparents and some from his Daddy and Mama! The candy-filled eggs are really for Mama and Daddy, hehe!

Once the Easter bag was complete, Josh and I got set up for an annual tradition that we started our first year of marriage (which carries over from a tradition we both had as kids growing up) - dying Easter eggs! We put in a movie, set up several cups with dye (love that vinegar smell!) and set to work being creative!

My row is the top row (I prefer vibrant colors and then using stickers or sometimes those shrink-wraps you boil on before dying). Josh's row is the bottom - he likes to get creative with crayons on his eggs!
We LOVED the time together, both as a family of 3 (plus ONE) and as a couple!
