On Saturday, September 11, 2010, Mommy's 2 dear friends, Maren Hewes and Emily Tony, hosted a great baby shower for me! Mama REALLY enjoyed it and is so grateful to the wonderful women who brought such nice presents and spent time sharing their love with our family! Here are some pictures of the day!
Thank you from us 3 Bruffeys!
~ Jacob, Mom, and Dad ~
A beautiful table - thank you Maren!
JACOB!
Delicious cupcakes by Maren!
This is a diaper cake made by Libby Bonjour - SO awesome!
She made the frame insert, too!
Decor on the diaper cake - baby tooth "brush"
Emily made these favors for the guests!
She used a marker that is basically food coloring to design the baseballs!
YUM!
Aunt Rup (my twin sister, Virginia) sent a t-shirt for the guests to sign - fun!
An awesome shower activity - have people write funny sayings on diapers!
And Maren and Emily had this football for guests to sign - love this! It is now in Jacob's nursery!
Emily signing a diaper :-)
So many fun diapers!
The shirt all signed :-)
Maren added the NKOTB
(can mean "New Kid on the Block" OR "New Kid of the Bruffeys!")
So many great presents - THANK YOU all!

We got to play "Trouble" before he and Daddy left for the afternoon - FUN!
Emily's gift - and a great idea for shower decor!
What amazing gifts for our little guy! Jacob and his parents are SO blessed!
My Granny and Aunt Shirley drove in from Louisiana for the shower - as did my mother from Corpus Christi - THANK YOU all!!
Enjoying the yummy food!
Guests at the shower (Allison, Carisa, and Aunt Shirley)
Who knows WHAT story I'm sharing! :-)
Wonderful ladies (Libby is in the gray and black - she made the diaper cake!)
Chatting with ladies (and Carisa interpreting :-) )
So fun! (Me, Sherrie, Libby, and Nancy)

This was a gift from my Gallaudet roommate - it is a little bag with what are called "pee-pee teepee for the sprinkling wee-wee" - everyone got a good laugh, BUT they seem So practical - to help changing our little guys diaper - and keep his mom and dad dry in the process :-)!!
When I showed the teepees to Josh - this was his idea on how to use them! LOL!
The unsigned diapers were sent home with instructions to see if Josh wanted to write on them - his WHOLE face lit up when I told him and he grabbed a sharpie and went to town - he signed all but 3 (he wanted me to do a few so I did, but his are HYSTERICAL)!!
A Josh original...
Already blaming the dog...
A final example of Josh's humor!
What a great day!!
So glad you enjoyed your shower!
ReplyDeleteIs that the BBQ team shirt Josh is wearing?
